Bei Yang
Creative Technologies Leader, Walt Disney Imagineering

Bei Yang is the creative technology executive for Walt Disney Imagineering. In his role, Bei oversees the functional as well as day-to-day operations of the art & media pipeline with Imagineering’s Technology Studio. Bei advises and reviews technical implementation details on both Imagineering projects and processes involving technology with a focus on computer graphics, show control, and overall systems integration. He is currently collaborating with ILM and Lucasfilm on an innovative attraction for the Star Wars-themed lands coming to Disneyland park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Ted Schilowitz
Futurist, 20th Century FOX & Chief Creative Officer, Barco Escape

Ted Schilowitz was the first employee and founding team member at RED Digital Cinema and Co Founder of G-Tech. His current roles are as Futurist for 20th Century Fox, where he works directly with Fox studios executives on the next generation of visual storytelling, such as the Martian VR experience that premiered at CES and Sundance this year. As Chief Creative Officer at Barco he’s been spearheading the creative aspects of the Barco Escape cinema project, that adds immersive right and left screens to movie theaters. @VirtualTedS

Shiraz Akmal
Co-Founder, Chief Executive Officer, Spaces

Shiraz Akmal led business and product development for DreamLab, which developed all of the virtual reality projects for DreamWorks Animation prior to 2016. Akmal is a mentor for Boost VC, the pre-eminent accelerator for emerging technology, and his career highlights include directing a string of multi-million-selling video game titles, including Disney Pixar’s The Incredibles, Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants and Scooby-Doo! Akmal and SPACES co-founder Brad Herman are inventors of multiple patented VR technologies.

Larry Cutler
CTO, Co-Founder, Baobab Studios

Larry Cutler brings deep technical leadership over the past 20 years in the area of animation creation and development. He was most recently the Vice President of Solutions at Metanautix, a big data analytics startup company (acquired by Microsoft). Prior to that, Larry spent 10 years at DreamWorks Animation where he held several leadership positions in the areas of character development, animation workflow, rigging, and character simulation. Larry began his career at Pixar Animation Studios as a Technical Director on the films Monster’s Inc., Toy Story 2, and A Bug’s Life.
Michael Kaplan
Manager of Global Media & Entertainment Enterprise Sales & Business Development, NVIDIA

Michael Kaplan is the Manager of Global Media & Entertainment Enterprise Sales & Business Development at NVIDIA. With over 20 years selling into the Broadcast and Post Production markets, Michael has worked with many of the industry’s largest customers. At NVIDIA, Michael oversees the group responsible for customer interfacing in the Broadcast, Post, and VFX market as well as VR customers and partners in the Media & Entertainment Industry. @mekkaplan
James Mathers
Founder, Digital Cinema Society

James Mathers is a veteran Cinematographer, and the President of the nonprofit educational cooperative, The Digital Cinema Society, a group dedicated to the industry's informed integration of new technology, as well as a regular contributor to a number of industry trade journals. James has been the Director of Photography on over forty feature films and MOWs and has seen six TV series from inception thru their first season. He has recently been specializing in shooting "filmstyle" digital, and while still active as a Cinematographer, James also regularly produces, writes, and directs a variety of projects.
